99 Year Old Tries Kayaking for First Time

Some feel good Thursday news. If this doesn't inspire you to get out and try something new, nothing will. Jacksonville, Florida resident Hortense Morris celebrated her 99th birthday by trying out kayaking for the first time. Accompanied by four generations of family members spanning 90 years, Morris paddled on the Fort George River for an hour or so. Morris didn't paddle the entire time, but she did point out that she "paddled off and on. I'm not lazy." She also called her 90 year-old sister-in-law a "sissy" for not paddling with the family.

As she stood on the bank posing for photos with her paddle, someone called, "Grandma, you look like you know what you're doing.""I do know what I'm doing," she said. "I'm standing here looking like an idiot." 

Love it. Get out there and do something new this weekend...it's the Fourth of July and you ain't getting any younger!
